From a young age, Heather understood the benefits of chiropractic. It was her family’s go-to solution for any injury. After being hurt playing soccer, the chiropractor got her back on the field. Since then, chiropractic was Heather’s chosen career. First, she attended the University of Waterloo. There, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Then, it was on to San Jose State University for a master’s degree in exercise physiology.

This experience caused Heather to fall in love with California. She enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose. There, Heather graduated cum laude as class valedictorian. Toward the end of her time there, she shadowed various chiropractors. These visits allowed her to see how others practiced. Heather completed an internship with Apple’s chiropractor, who treats the company’s employees.

Heather has taken additional studies. These include courses with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). She is certified in the Webster Technique and is a member of the ICPA. Additionally, she is a certified kinesiologist.

With her love of travel, Heather has an appreciation for different cultures. Her adventures have taken her to India for a Palmer Clinic Abroad Program. She also lived in Newcastle upon Tyne in England.

Heather and her husband John are loving life in the county. They welcomed their baby girl, Poppy, into the world and have enjoyed their new roles as parents. They also have three pets: Ruby, Royal and Zoey. Heather grew up in Newmarket. Her sister is a chiropractor in Nobleton.

In her spare time outside of County Chiropractic Centre, Heather loves being outside. She likes walking the dogs, going hiking, doing yoga, playing soccer and running. Heather also enjoys going to the Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area and Sandbanks Provincial Park. Every week, she sees the chiropractor to keep her body healthy and strong.

Laurie graduated with honours from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in 2008 and earned the designation of Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) from this education. This was thanks to a scholarship from her employer at the time, Loblaw Companies, while she was working as the manager of the Natural Value section a Loblaws location. She ultimately went on to work for Whole Foods Market and retired last year to move to the County with her husband. She had been interested in nutrition, supplements, and holistic living since she was a teenager and had gone on to study at University of Waterloo in the Independent Studies faculty as it afforded her the ability to study several different subject areas within and outside of the university. Ultimately ending up in the retail world of the natural food and supplement business, she spent over 24 years at 3 different companies in management roles. Always the best part of the job was to assist customers in finding the right foods and supplements to achieve their health goals. After achieving her R.H.N., she had customers asking if she did consultations outside of her role in the retail setting and now here in the County she is able to focus on her passion, helping people feel their best through great nutrition and lifestyle modifications. Her special areas of focus are digestive health, immune health, and clean eating. She and her husband moved to the County in 2022 from Durham Region to enjoy all that the area has to offer in the way of outdoor activities, access to local (fresh!) farm goods, and to experience the wonderful sense of community found here. Fun in her spare time includes hiking/walking, gardening, yoga, biking, art, music, and spending time with family and friends.

Hi there! My name is Dr. Jessica Longhi, but feel free to refer to me as Dr. Jess or Dr. Jessica. I grew up in Vaughan Ontario right on the outskirts of Toronto until I made the move to Peterborough to attend Trent University. I completed both a Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Health Sciences and a Master’s degree in Science.

My journey to becoming a chiropractor was not a direct path. I always knew I wanted to help people in a healthcare setting, but I was unsure of how to pursue this passion. Throughout my academic career I became very interested in the concept of quality of life and this is when I was introduced to chiropractic care. I instantly connected with the profession and I knew that chiropractic care was how I was going to help people improve their quality of life. Upon completion of my Masters degree I left for Seneca Falls New York to attend New York Chiropractic College. Here I completed a Doctorate of Chiropractic. My time in Seneca Falls was transformational. I had the pleasure of working with many different population types, from babies to the elderly. At the end of my schooling I completed a residency program at the Rochester Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic where I gained a strong interest in working with adults and older adults. Working with Veterans Affairs also showed me the significance of treating the body as a whole and the impact life experiences can have on the human body. Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends, and especially my horse named Pete, an off-the-track Standardbred. During my academic career I began to foster my love for animals where I was brought into to the horse world. I started volunteering my time at a local horse rescue, which is where I was introduced to Pete and I became his forever person.

My love for animals is what also prompted me to complete my animal chiropractic certification through the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre in Canada. Chiropractic care is just as beneficial to animals as it is to people. As a certified animal chiropractor I am now accepting animal clients, both large and small!

My fiancé, Tim, and I currently live in Quinte West with our two dogs, Dolly and Daisy. We enjoy spending our time outdoors, going for long walks with the pups, and working on our property. I love to garden and grow my own vegetables, and spending the evenings around a campfire. I am very excited to be a part of a practice where I can help serve the residents of Prince Edward County. My appreciation and dedication to the chiropractic profession is strong, and my goal is to share my knowledge and skills with all of you to help improve your quality of life.
